Almost Wonka Fizz

We have an amazing bar near my place that makes the most delicious concoctions. Unfortunately, they know how tasty their drinks are, so they aren’t always within my budget. Thus, I have learned how to make a few versions of their drinks at home. The Wonka Fizz is one of my favorite cocktails they make.

My version of the Wonka Fizz differs from theirs as little as possible. I didn’t have any lemons, so I had to use sweetened lime juice.  Also, I don’t have chocolate bitters, so I used vanilla and Galliano instead. I really should find a place to get chocolate bitters. It’s the most delicious flavor.  Regardless, my cocktail is close enough to still be delicious. I can’t wait to play around with this recipe more!

Almost-Wonka Fizz

1 oz. Sailor Jerry’s rum (an aged rum would be nice!)
1/2 oz. sweetened lime juice
1 tsp. white sugar
1 whole egg
1 splash vanilla extract
1 splash Galliano
Soda water

Put all ingredients except soda water into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake 30 seconds or until liquid is smooth and frothy. Pour liquid and ice into a Collins glass and fill with soda water (and possibly more ice). Gently pour liquid back into cocktail shaker and then back into the Collins glass.

Enjoy! And, as always, please drink responsibly.
